The Great Debate over the Adult Onesie!

We didn’t see it coming (don’t think anyone did to be honest) - but here it is - It’s the ADULT ONESIE.

And all we can do is gape, scratch our heads and wonder... WHY? Why? Because onesies belong on babies... period!

Yes, you are a child Justin Bieber - at least wear Canadian colours! Where’s your patriotism? Oh right... you also managed to diss the PM of Canada by showing up in ‘overauls’ LOL (you said it - not us!)

What were you thinking One Direction... and you too Harry Styles?

The boys of One Direction look like they all need a lollipop each and should be tucked into bed (even you, Harry Styles... why?)!

Ryan Gosling - after “Notebook”, we’d forgive you anything and everything - except THIS travesty.

Ellen - Nope, you’re definitely not rocking that ugly onesie!

Yes, the adult onesie looks very comfortable. But to make a style statement in it is just plain wrong. And think about what it’s like to go to the toilet in them... yeesh! Or... are we going to start doing the unimaginable (think happy thoughts!) wear diapers too? - so that one doesn’t have to completely disrobe while in the pit.

Any-hoo! The less said about this trend, that is catching on like wildfire, the better. So, we’re not going to waste our time ranting about how terrible it is... because it’s here and we’re going to see it right into winter, we reckon!

In these circumstances, one can only hope that it won’t stay for long!

The adult onesie is sure to go down as one of the worst fashion trends since we can remember - right there with ‘no pants’, wear your pyjamas outside and dropping pants.

But, if you think we’re talking a load of gobbledygook and if you absolutely MUST wear the onesie - then PLEASE, we beseech you - at least wear it well!

Our Best Picks: Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins - Launch!

The Kardashian’s seem to have their fingers in every pie you can think of... and now they’ve even won over the heart of Toshop’s ruthless boss - Sir Philip Green (read all about him here). He’s let them unleash their style in an exclusive collection for Dorothy Perkins in the UK (now global of course!).

We’ve always thought that European and American Fashion is world’s apart - BUT if this article in the Daily Mail is anything to go by, we might just have to eat our shorts!

Our Verdict:
The collection is VERY and MOSTLY Kim with bits of Khloe and Kourtney peeping through here and there! Bodycon dresses, lacy, racy, very normal colours and big emphasis on the chest and derriere - which they all have ample of! There’s a lot of shimmer and shine and they’ve even roped in the very popular ‘animal print’ - an absolute ‘must have’ trend at the moment. Over all, a fashion hit, we think!

We Love: the way the dresses and tops accentuate womanly curves and we love the PU leggings!

We don’t Love: the animal prints - too bold, too crass and trying too much to be too different.

Oxblood Obsession

We never thought we’d say it... because every random ‘anyone’ who is ‘anyone’ has verbal diarrhea with this particular word these days... ‘obsessed’.

Does one know what it is like to be really ‘obsessed’? Well, after a lot of rolling eyes, tongues and anything else we have to roll when we see the term ‘obsessed’ written or spoken about by style bloggers and the likes - we have finally reached a well-thought-about conclusion, by first hand experience, that - yes, one can be ‘obsessed’... but this obsession should last for a certain period of time and it should be with one thing at a time - that’s why you call it an ‘obsession’ - because all of one’s energies, mental and physical are focussed towards one and one thing only... the object of one’s ‘obsession’...

So, to make the long story short - we are finally ‘obsessed’ {please don’t roll your eyes - because at the end of this post, we hope you’ll join us in our ‘obsession’ too!} with OXBLOOD.

Quick (this is a trick question)! What are the first few things that come to mind when you saw the word - ‘oxblood’?


Here are our guesses (because we most definitely felt some of them!): Blood of an Ox. Deep red oozing shiny stuff. Some kind of a dish akin to Scotland’s very revered ‘Haggis’ or a larger and more bloodier version of the English ‘blood sausage’. Sounds disgusting! What the heck is that?


Yes... what the heck is it? Believe it or not - it’s the name of a colour. It also happens to be the hottest colour for Fall 2012... in just about anything (except your bedroom walls please!).


All the fashion slaves (I mean fashionistas...) are saying it, doing it and wearing it... According to Wikipedia - “Oxblood is: is a dark brownish-red color or a wine colour”. That’s it! That’s all they say about it - nothing else... an entry that literally spans a couple of lines (with another that points to somebody called ‘Oxblood Ruffian’ - the less said the better surely!).


So we’ve taken it upon ourselves to give this gorgeous colour it’s due. Adding onto what Wikipedia has already said - Oxblood is a gorgeously deep deep shade of red, teetering towards a chocolate brown. It is the colour of a deep red wine but with a deep brown tinge. It is the colour, quite literally of dried blood...

Wait, there’s more!

Oxblood oozes sophistication and playfulness. It is a colour that is demure and sexy but bold when one needs it to be. It’s strong and very decadent - just like blood and chocolate! And now that we’ve tasted blood, the next obvious thing to do was go on a hunt for the best ‘oxblood’ items that money can buy us... and here’s what we’ve come up with:

She looks big but she's just really - tiny, unique and classy! I'm sure you can fit the entire globe into her though!

Cinch this at your waist and va-va-voom! We expect no less from the McQueen!

3. The Oxblood Coat - Alberto Biani's Red & Oxblood Contrast Jacket
Not fitted but very stylish. Red is oddly the best contrasting colour with Oxblood. Period.

4. The Oxblood Dress - DVF's Jasleen Sweet Grape Dress
Simple, classy, casual chic in Oxblood. It's fall so we've attempted to cover up!

5. The Oxblood Boots - Isabel Marant's Blackson Embroidered Boots
Isabel Marant - you've outdone yourself with these beautiful embroidered boots and in the hottest colour of the season too. These boots will take you from day to night, beautifully!

What a great colour, this Oxblood. To those of you who are still, rolling your eyes thinking we're just being a little 'pouffy' calling a deeper shade of maroon or burgundy - Oxblood. Maybe we are, just a little.
